Laptop adapter light fading in and out?

I have a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3505 laptop and there's this green light that keeps fading in and out on the adapter ( it does this when plugged into the laptop and when taken out ) and it wont charge my laptop, any idea what it is? is there a way to fix it or do I have to buy a new charger?
