My Sims 3 expansion packs won't install?

I recently bought The Sims 3 Ambitions expansion pack and World Adventures. i Tried to install them on to my Fujitsu laptop but it won't work. The download starts normally but after around 5 minutes of installing it come up with a message saying there is an error? how can i fix this?
