Is there usually a lot of racial tension in Georgia?

I am a Italian 19 year old who recently moved from New York To Georgia. In NY one of my best friends was African American and we played basketball together. When he would invite me to play somewhere where mostly blacks played they were always cool with me and it was never an issue. Now that Im in GA i started going to the rec center in my county to shoot hoops and its a different story. As soon as I walk in the room i here many racist comments and get looks that are full of animosity. I don't look at or bother anyone and always get the ball for people if they lose it and it comes near me. When I shoot kids will yell you suck white boy go home. I feel mad because I am a resident of this county and I should have the right to play at the rec center. Is this a common phenomenom in Ga????????
