Can i reinstall vista into Windows 7 Home edition ?

my HP dv2000 windows vista recently been having errors and i want to reinstall vista, but with the data i backed up from windows 7 and i also created a system recovery disk from my other laptop which is running on windows 7 Home edition as well, will there be a problem or is it impossible to reinstall it like that ? (i'm sorry if i don't make sense, i'm not really good at explaining this tech stuff)
