Computer unable to start and startup repair problems! Please Help!?
Please note I am not very tech savvy when it comes to computers but I can follow instructions well. I went to go on my computer later in the afternoon. It was working perfectly fine in the morning. I open it up and it gives me the option to launch startup repair. I launch startup repair and it starts running. It then prompts me with asking whether or not I want to restore my computer. I click restore and then a window comes up titled StartRep.exe-Application Error. The detailed instruction at 0x74602738 referenced memory at 0x00000007. The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate the program. I click ok and it asks me my keyboard layout which I click ok to U.S. A dropbox logging in as administrator appears and it says my account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator. I then log in as my main account. It then prompts me with choosing a recovery tool. My options are startup repair or recovery and utility. I am unsure what to do after this. Some details about my computer is that it's a fujitsu lifebook n6420 with windows vista. I've had it for about 5 years and I have norton security software 2011. When I was able to gain access to the computer I remember seeing the restart button saying it needed to restart and install updates. I did that twice in a row and it still insisted I needed to do that. I would like to avoid not having to completely wipe everything off my computer. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
