Kissing someone with a lip ring?

hey guys...so I am recently in a relationship with this guy who I am absolutely comfortable with. but the "problem" is that he has a lip ring. he has a hoop in, and I'm really nervous to kiss him with it in. so I guess my question is, does it get in the way when kissing? help! :)
